There are many good reasons to come to Beachaven Winery in Clarksville, Tennessee this year, and here are just two of them:
The solar eclipse is the biggest natural occurrence in Clarksville since the tornado of 1999. This once in a lifetime event takes place on August 21 at about 1:30 pm, and you don’t want to be left out in the dark… oh, wait… maybe you do! Anyway, that is a discussion for another time.
The other event you need to be a part of is the Welcome Home and Field of Honor celebration for our military friends and family. This, like the eclipse, will take place all over Clarksville, but mostly at Beachaven. It is a three-day celebration featuring the Vietnam Veteran’s Traveling Tribute wall. It arrives at Beachaven on September 14 and stays through the 16th. Additionally, there will be an Eyes of Freedom exhibit featuring photographs from the Iraq conflict. There will be a wreath laying ceremony, picnic, music, and even skydivers!
And there’s more… There will be a Field of Honor flag tribute to all veterans. You can purchase an American flag for $40.00 in memory of or in honor of any veteran (or maybe just for your own appreciation of our flag itself) of your choice, and that flag will be proudly flown during the entire celebration. We are hoping to fly 500 flags! The flag will be yours to keep at the end of the three-day celebration. Try to visualize what drivers will see driving down 1-24 as they come up on 500 American flags flying behind the Vietnam Veterans’ wall in front of Beachaven Winery! What can say “We proudly support our troops!” better than that?
This is going to be an event you can’t miss! You can visit the wall at any time during its stay here. There will be lights and guards 24/7. Come and be a part of this important tribute to America’s best!
